Vision Month has arrived at Influence Church!
Our theme for 2022 is Scattered! We believe that Scattered is not just a collection of sermons and devotions, but it’s a calling to every Christian; everyone, everyday, everywhere.
Thanks for joining us for our first Daily Devotion today, we hope it’s a blessing to you.
Scattered is all about living a life of kingdom purpose. Yes, we have great moments of encounter when we gather as the Church. Yes, when we gather, we can be equipped and empowered, but there’s more! I believe that this month, God doesn’t just want to bless you when we are gathered as a Church, He wants to give you vision for when you are scattered, as a disciple. That’s what our Vision Month is really all about, encouraging you to seek a God-vision for your life, everyday!
“Without vision people perish; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.”
Proverbs 29:19
This proverb is teaching us to have a vision, that gives us guidance. To not just live day-to-day, being blown around by the seasons and feelings, but to find a God vision for how you live your daily life.
The New Living Translation of this verse says:
“When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild.
But whoever obeys the law is joyful.”
Spiritually speaking, this “blessed” and “joyful” life is found through seeking God’s divine purpose, in our everyday.
Maybe you recognise that you don’t always live with Godly purpose in mind. Perhaps you’re frustrated, because you realised that you’ve been caught up in drama, not living a life of devotion. The great news is, you don’t have to beat yourself up about it! You haven’t missed out, because everyday there’s a new opportunity.
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his mercies never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22-23
Everyday God’s mercies are new.
Everyday we can be thankful for God’s faithfulness,
Everyday there is a fresh opportunity to live with purpose.
Prayer
God I thank you that today, you have a purpose for my life. Thank you that today, you are with me through the power of your Holy Spirit. Help me Lord to see this day, with eyes of faith. Help me to have a God vision for every interaction I have and every decision I make.
