Day 40: All God’s promises are YES in Christ
2 Corinthians 1:20
This is the final day in our Unshakeable Hope devotional series, a whole 40 days looking at God’s promises. Did you manage all 40 days? If not, why don’t you go back and catch up on any you missed. As we remind ourselves of these steadfast truths and build our life upon them, it builds within us an unshakeable hope.
To finish this series we want to remind you of the verse we started with written by Paul in 2 Corinthians 1:20
‘For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.’
Every promise we have been reminded of in the past 40 days and all the others we find in the Bible they are all Yes in Christ! They are fulfilled because of Christ and we can rely on them to be true.
Let me talk to you for a moment about gifts, we all love it when we receive a gift but a gift is no use unless we actually open it. Without opening a gift we will never experience what is inside, we’re just holding on to something without actually letting it make any difference to our lives. It’s the same with the promises of God, they are a gift from God that we need to open. We’ve received the promises but now it’s time to actually accept them as the gift that they are, say amen and build our life upon them.
Don’t let these promises be a gift left unopened but open it, fully receive, agree with it by adding your Amen to Christ’s Yes as the verse says.
It’s when we live in these promises that an unshakeable hope is built in our lives that means no matter what we go through in life we can have an unshakeable hope in Christ that will allow us to stay standing whatever the storm. Let’s never forget the truth found in Hebrews 6:19
“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”
Prayer
God thank you for your promises, thank you that they are your gift to me! Help me to build my life on these promises found in your word, let them be a firm foundation always providing me with an unshakable hope in you!
