Welcome to The Journey
21 Day Challenge!
A relationship with God is all about the journey, not rushing to what you think might be a goal or a destination, but simply growing each day in your journey with God.
The Bible is a phenomenal tool to help you grow in God. It’s packed full of wisdom, inspiration, guidance, challenge and much more.
The idea of this 21 day challenge is simple, to encourage you to grow more in your journey with God through an easy Bible reading plan. From today, March 6, when we launched our series, there are 21 days until Easter Sunday. For each of these days we’re going to read just one chapter of scripture from the Gospel of John. Starting today at John 1 and finishing on Saturday March 26 with the final chapter, John 21.
Reading the Bible is easy. The important part however is learning how to apply scripture to your life. Each day, for the next 21 days, we’re going to post something on the Influence App that will help you with this journey. It might be a thought, a blog, a picture, a question, maybe even a few questions! The idea is not to tell you what you need to know, but to help you grow in your journey with Christ, through the power of scripture.
Day 1: Pray
Reading: John 1
Always pray before you read the Bible. It doesn’t have to be a long prayer, it doesn’t have to be a complicated prayer. But pray that God, through his Holy Spirit, would speak to you through what you’re about to read.
The Bible is not like any other book, it is more than just words, it’s the Word of God. It has the power to speak into your life, like nothing else you’ve ever read.
So take a moment before you start this journey. Pray that over the next 21 days, God would open your heart and mind to what He wants to say to you.
Let me encourage you to do one more thing, make a note of what stands out to you in these scriptures over these 21 Day Challenge.
It could be a daily journal in a fancy looking notepad, it could be scribbled on bits of paper or it could be typed into your phone; whatever works for you. But write down scriptures that stand out to you, lessons you need to learn, encouragements that God gives you and things that you need to act on.
Remember, it’s not just the reading that is powerful, it’s what we do with it!
Enjoy John 1, see you tomorrow.
