Sunday Review

The Review 05.02.17

February 6th, 2017 by Colleen Wind

Sunday was incredible. It was so amazing to have Ps Glyn Barrett with us from Audacious Church in Manchester and in Hero Factory we had the best time and so much fun.

With there being no Barnard Castle service, we were full to bursting on Sunday morning. The kids were incredible and so were the team. Here is what we got up to.

Richmond and Penrith

This week was part 4 of our Finding Dory series. We watched the part of the film where we saw Marlin and Nemo stuck in a fish tank in the aquariam, they are panicking and scared and start to wonder what to do. They start to think about ‘What would Dory do?’ Now we weren’t telling the children that when they are scared and have no idea what to do that they think about what Dory would do but we talked about how when we are in those situations we need to think about ‘What would Jesus do?’

Growing up I remember having the braclets that had W.W.J.D on and I wore it every day as a reminder to be more like Jesus in my world but to help me to think about what Jesus would do in situations in my life.

I chatted to your children about what do we know about Jesus, about who he is and what he did. When we know about Jesus it will help us to be like him and to think like him when we are in difficult situations.

Here are some questions to carry on the discussion at home.

Tea Time Talk

  • What do you know about Jesus?
Spend sometime talking about who he is and what he did.
  • How can you be more like Jesus in your school?
  • How can you be more like Jesus when you are at home?
  • Chat together about how you can always remember to think What would Jesus do?
  • Pray together.
