Last week I was struggerling to use my iPad in Hero Factory, as I struggerled on and tried to work it out a 5 year old took the iPad off me and did it themselves.
We are currently living in a world where kids no how to use apple products better that adults do. Most classes have iPods or iPads in for kids to use in school and I was shocked to be told by one of our 7 year olds that they got an iPad mini for their birthday. This got me thinking, children as young as 3 or 4 no how to download games in an instant, they want a game its there. Some games on the app store I do question the age rating they are given but then again there is so many good apps out there that I think could benefit and develop your Childs walk with God.
So parents I have spent some time this week checking out iTunes and the app store for some good music, bible studies, games, colouring and story apps that I think you and your children will love.
Some of these apps are only available on iPads but some available in both iPods and iPhones so make sure you have a look and check it out.
Games + Stories:
Being a huge fan of the You Version bible app myself when i received an email saying that they were releasing a children’s bible app i was pretty excited to see what it would be like and i can honestly say it hasn’t disappointed. It is interactive, colourful and tells the bible story so well. This is definitely a must for your kids.
I loved this app, I actually did and well lets just say you as parents may find it a challenge too. On this app you can get the free version or pay for the full version. You can learn bible verses, record yourself saying them, unscramble bible verses and every day there is a new verse that you can learn together as a family. This is definitely worth a look and also a great app to do together with your child.
Again I just downloaded the free version, it is full of stuff to do but if your child liked this app it could be worth spending the couple of pounds and getting the full version. Again a great app, it is full of stories and they colouring, games and puzzles linked to the story you just heard. There is also a very addictive keep the apple away from the snake game which I became totally hooked on.
This is a really simple app that is full of different games to introduce your kids to different heroes in the bible. This again is the free version which is great but like I said if this was completed you can pay to upgrade the game.
One thing that is lacking is good childrens everyday devotions. This app is very simple but is exactly that. A devotion everyday that your child could do themselves or even with you. You can set reminders everyday to let you know you need to do it and there is also a great notes section where your child or you can write down the things they have learnt.
The bible is full of so many promises and this app will help your child to know and understand those promises. Everyday there is a new promise which they can read which will help them grow in their walk with God. This is an app I am keeping myself.
This app is so simple and is just a bible story colouring app. The free version only comes with stories from the old testament but when you upgrade you will get so much more.
Your kids will love these podcasts actually i think you as parents will aswell. They are whole services including worship, preach and stage show, obviously you cant see the services but you can have so much listening to it all.
This music is great and starting this term in HF we will be introducing some of these songs into what we do.
If you know or any good bible apps, music, podcasts for kids then comment below and let all the other parents know.
Hope you find these helpful.
