Pastor Colleen McGuinness continues our Month of Miracles with a message about healing.
Every keen gardener has something in common, their desire to see something grow!
It could a healthy lawn, giant sunflowers, rose bushes, you name it! It could be a whole range of different things, the key element is the growth part!
A key ingredient to see something grow is the preparation before hand!
Most healthy flowers or plants wont just spring up anywhere, you’ve got to prepare the ground first to create the most optimum growing environment!
I think exactly the same is true of us in our MONTH of MIRACLES!
This month your prayer may be completely different to someone else in Church, but we all share something in common, our belief and expectancy on God for something outside of our own ability… a miracle!
But just like a good gardner, we’ve also got to prepare the ground!
We’ve got to remove un-deeded obstacles and hindrances in our walk with God, before we can see the breakthrough we’re believing for!
2 Chronicles 7:14 says
‘If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.’
Our humility before God is a key element to preparing the ground for our miracle!
Humility realigns Gods authority and Lordship over our lives! It places us in a position of submission, which can then lead to a position of expectation!
It’s right to be expectant before God! In the Bible God tells us we can expect good things from him.
Psalm 31:19 says
‘How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world.’
But I believe before expectancy, has to come humility!
It prepares the ground of our lives to receive all that God has for us!
2013 has been an amazing year so far in the life of Influence Church but we know that there’s still GREATER things to come!
We’re calling March our ‘Month of Miracles’ and we’re expectant for God to do some incredible things in our Church and in the lives of every individual!
But as we start the month, really the miracle part can’t be defined by us!
We believe in a God who is limitless in power, abundant in grace and generous in nature! It’s only God who can provide provision, healing, restoration in miraculous ways! We cannot schedule Gods purposes in to our time scale and request miracles based on our calendar!
But what scripture tells us is that God wants to give good gifts to his children (Matt 7).
We cannot make miracles happen on request, but we can increase and enlarge our faith and expectancy on a God who always wants to reveal His power to us!
So really for us, this is a month of faith!
A time of seeking God and believing for what we could never achieve in our own strength!
When Jesus was on the way to heal a little girl (Mark 5) some people meet him to say that it’s too late for him to do anything! In that moment he turns to the girls father and says:
‘Do not be afraid, just believe!’
Your faith is the beginning of your miracle!
Let’s believe for some big things this month!
